W📅 Week of 2026-05-04 - 2026-05-10
🕒 Current
- Reading: Hunting Cyber Criminals by Vinny Troia
- HackTheBox: Using the Metasploit Framework
- WGU Cyber Challenge Range
🎥 Watched
- NahamSec - Stop Using AI Connectors Until You Watch This
- Critical Thinking - Source Code Review Meta Analysis (Ep.172) I keep not listening to this podcast, so I decided to see if I'd be more likely to keep up on episodes if I watched them. I definitely enjoyed consuming it this way better. This episode was helpful and I feel like I could do really well with source code analysis given my history as a software engineer. I'll have to take a stab at some open source bug bounty programs.
- DEF CON 33 - Unmasking the Snitch Puck: IoT surveillance tech in the school bathroom - Reynaldo, nyx This was a really interesting talk. It's kind of bonkers that this IoT device is just a raspberry pi and how incredibly insecure it is. Not only that, but this is just another step in surveillance capitalism that I'm not a fan of. The hacks they used to gain root were interesting as well and overall it was a great talk.
👨💻 Hacked
- Finished HackTheBox: Pentest in a Nutshell
🏫 School
- Passed my capstone project and I'm officially done with school! I now have a Bachelor's in Cybersecurity and am looking for employment! At some point soon I will write a blog post on my experience with the WGU Cybersecurity program.
🆕 Misc
- Vulnerability Garden This is an amusing project. It's a list of named vulnerabilities, including logos if they exist. Vuln names are fun. I particularly found "Oh Snap! More Lemmings" hilarious.
